Saturday in Hefei

We know you all want pictures, but we put a new card in the camera and we can't read it on the laptop. Sorry. Tomorrow we'll put pictures up.

Today we got up and played for a while, Lindsey took a bath, and then we went to breakfast. Lindsey met a new friend Lucius at breakfast. After breakfast we went in town shopping. The weather was nicer today and there were peeks of sun. Getting around the city is a fairly involved endeavor. There is a constant flow of cars, bikes, and people to maneuver through. It's almost nerve racking, because here we are with our girl, and we are crossing a muli-lane street with three lanes of traffic coming at us. There is a constant roar of horns beeping in the streets. Horns are used to notify others they are coming their way.

We went to a gigantic department store in downtown Hefei. People dress very fashionably and the department store rivals Saks Fifth Avenue. The department store has a grocery store on the bottom level, and then has many levels above. After the department store, we walked around the city. There was a market, and a band playing, and it looks like people are getting ready for Chinese New Year. We woke up this morning to the sound of fireworks.

Lindsey is a happy, spirited little girl. Everyone looks at her everywhere we go. She was more comfortable being out and about today than yesterday. We think she might be a cook or baker someday, because she loves mixing concoctions. She's also really warming up to Daddy. Although she still puts him in his place. If he gets out of line, she says ahaha. We don't know what that really means, but we get the picture.

She's taking her afternoon nap now, and is starting to stir. More tomorrow.

Mommy and Daddy,

Yes! I can see why people look at her. She's got such a beautiful face. I keep staring at her pictures!

Oh, well, no pictures today, but I loved hearing about her Saturday in Heffei. I know how it feels to be worried about your child in traffic! Nevermind in a city with alot of it!

I really wonder what "ahaha" means!

Love, Auntie Cheryl
